Manager,Operations Security

Primary Role:
Manage, develop and support physical security systems, including all distributed security systems within their designated multi-state division.  Develop and direct cost effective security solutions to meet customers expectations and technical requirements to encourage best practice and innovation throughout all assigned operational areas.

Key Accountabilities:
· Perform and analyze security risk and compliance with the American WaterPhysical Security Policy, American Water Security Standards and security regulations including site specific assessments and security audits.  Direct team members in security and vulnerability assessments to determine appropriate cost effective mitigation solutions and Capital improvements.
· Manage distributed physical security systems.  Develop and implement training sessions, workshops, etc. required to maintain the effective operation of the systems.  Partner with functional management and supervision on the operation and maintenance of the systems.
· Develop, execute, adhere and manage Security Operational (OPEX) and Capital(CAPEX) budget.  Prioritize and budget for security improvements to reduce risk and enhance facility security.  Direct the implementation of security improvements within established budget limitations.
· Establish and maintain effective liaisons and relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement and Emergency Management agencies in all assigned territories.
· Participate in the evaluation of new security technology and maintain a current perspective on emerging security trends, technologies and methodologies.
· Provide event management support to operating companies as necessary. Participate as a technical lead and subject matter expert in the areas of Event Management, Incident Command System (ICS), and Security.

Knowledge:
· Knowledge of company deployed Physical Security Systems and software. 
· Knowledge of industry standard security methodologies. 
· General knowledge of the water industry and water treatment processes. 
· Knowledge of the principles, standards, and techniques of security management; and pertinent elements of engineering, physical science, ergonomics, psychology, industrial hygiene, physiology, sociology, and other scientific and technological fields, which contribute to the achievement of the security management strategy and objectives. 
· Knowledge of AW Regional policies, practices, programs and procedures.
· At least 8 years experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role, in security management, or related discipline.
